The Enumclaw-Buckley Plateau has natural resources surrounded by a landscape beautiful beyond compare. Hop in your car and drive forty minutes in one direction, and you arrive at a renowned ski resort. Forty minutes in the other direction, and you are breathing in the fragrance of salt water. Yet the skylines of two major cities are in reach, with the plateau just forty minutes from Tacoma and sixty minutes from Seattle, each offering a multiplicity of services.
As a longtime resident of the plateau, I’ve discovered that above all the beauty and available services for our community, our greatest asset is the people.
We at Redemption Press, under our Cole Street Press imprint, bring you this anthology to introduce you to some amazing people you may not know, especially if you are a newer resident. Many of the folks in this book I’ve been privileged to know for decades. But in the process of interviewing them, I learned much about them I didn’t realize.
And that’s the idea. We want you to get acquainted with these individuals who are a part of what has made the plateau such a delightful place to live.
So, let me introduce to you some of the “legends” of the plateau in Volume One of People of the Plateau.
And this is just the beginning of what we hope will become a long-running and endearing series.
