Description

Do you ever doubt your faith in God because you never had that one defining “salvation moment” that other Christians talk about – you know the one where you drop to your knees, plead to be saved, then receive a feeling, vision, or some other heavenly sign of confirmation? This is exactly how author Mark McKinney felt, until he faced the daunting task of going public with his Christian testimony. Enter: the sticky note.

Over the last several decades, the sticky note has become a hallmark of modern life. Reminders, schedules, even love notes have been relegated to these small paper squares, which we tack onto the computer monitor, the refrigerator, or the dashboard. Little do we know that in posting them, we leave veritable paper trails – mini-documentaries of what we do, what is important to us, and what defines us as people.

In Faith on a Sticky Note, McKinney uses this idea to relay how he discovered his faith, tracking down the “spiritual sticky notes” of his life, then piecing them together like a puzzle. “I never had my moment…” he writes. “I had many moments.”Through the heartwarming, personal accounts of his father’s battle with alchoholism and eventual death, McKinney reminds us that faith, like life, in not made in a single defining moment, but rather in everyday situations attuned to God’s perfect timing.

Loved this book! It’s a must-read! Mark does an excellent job of carrying us through his journey with both candor and wit. I’ve recommended this read to at least 5-6 friends that have also enjoyed.

  2. Kristi Reed

You will not regret buying and reading. When you know someone for a very long time you think you understand who they are but sometimes you truly don’t really know them or realize their struggles. I not only learned more about my friend, but also myself. This little “sticky note” book puts faith front and center and shows how our God works on and for us even when we don’t realize it. He is always faithful and for that I am thankful. Superbly written. You will laugh and cry and hopefully, laugh some more.

  3. Annette R. Jones

  13. Pastor Carey Caldwell

Mark is a great husband, dad, and servant of Christ. He writes with complete transparency that is riveting, so much so, that you will not be able to put this book down. Mark isn’t just sharing good advice and opinions; he speaks from personal experience concerning the reality of the devastating affects of addiction and how faith played a key part in his journey. This is a must read for anyone who knows someone battling an addiction, someone who is currently battling an addiction, and for anyone that may be considering experimenting with drugs or alcohol. Great book with a powerful testimony!

  14. Diane Dekreon

This was a very good read! I enjoyed the author’s ability to bring his audience into his experiences but still offer advice the reader can take away for themselves!

  15. This is Good

I just finished “Faith on a Sticky Note” and wow. While perserving his family’s history Mckinney creates a powerful testimony that we all can take something from. As Mckinney shares his journey toward Christ, you feel his struggles as if they were your own. A great read for anyone!
